It is with great sadness that I have to inform you of the unexpected death of Chris Prodromou. The following statement has been issued by his family.
To all friends,
I regretfully announce to you the sad loss of Christopher Prodromou, who tragically took his own life on Wednesday evening, June 4th.
Please let those who cared know the news. We will inform you of funeral details within the next week.
There was no note and no visible indication that anything was wrong, so we are all in shock.
Charlie (Chris’s dad) sends this message on Chris’s behalf - “to all my friends, see you in heaven”.
Many of you will know Chris from representing
He was due to make his debut at the World Championships this year for his beloved Greece National Team.
Chris was one of our sports great characters and will be sadly missed and remembered fondly!
His family would like to thank everyone for their support at this difficult time.
Our condolences and thoughts go to his family.
